Additional evidence delays Lundin war crimes trial

Dagens Industri reports on September 21st that Swedish war crimes prosecutor Henrik Attorps has decided to interview Alex Schneiter and Ian Lundin yet again. The explanation given is that the material seized during the Swiss police’s raid of Lundin’s offices in Geneva in February 2018 arrived in Sweden in November 2018 only and it has taken time to study it. Only now did the prosecutor conclude that it warrants additional questioning of the suspects.

Consequently, the 30 September deadline for Lundin Petroleum to request additional investigation will be lifted until the additional investigative work will be finalised. Sources close to Lundin Petroleum suggest that the trial is likely to open in the Autumn of 2020.
