Additional evidence delays Lundin war crimes trial
Dagens Industri reports on September 21st that Swedish war crimes prosecutor Henrik Attorp has decided to interview Alex Schneiter and Ian Lundin again this year. The explanation given is that material that was seized in the Swiss police’s raid of Lundin’s offices in Geneva in February 2018 and arrived in Sweden in November, has taken time to study. Only now, the prosecutor has been able to co nclude that it warrants additional questioning of the suspects.
Consequently, the 30 September deadline for Lundin Petroleum to request additional investigation will be lifted until the additional investigative work is finalised. Sources close to Lundin Petroleum suggest that the trial is now most likely to open in the Autumn of 2020.
